A Facility Advisory Committee of over 30 parents, staff members, and community leaders toured the district and reviewed data to identify facility issues, priorities and made a recommendation for a May 2022 Bond Election. After the 2022 bond attempt, community, staff, parent & board feedback and discussions led the MISD Board of Trustees to unanimously call for a May 6, 2023 Bond Election on February 6, 2023. This bond will address the high school and elementary campuses that are over or near capacity, as well as provide for new construction and updates to the Baseball/Softball fields, Tennis courts, and Panther Stadium.

All registered voters of Mabank ISD may cast a ballot during Early Voting April 24 – May 2, 2023 Election Day, May 6. The projected monthly tax impact with the $40,000 homestead exemption, is approximately $18.32 a month (based on a $200,000 home). However, there will be no tax increase for taxpayers 65 years of age and older who have applied for and received the “age 65 freeze of school homestead taxes.
